ABOUT THE EXHIBIT
America's Road: The Journey of Route 66 takes visitors on a geographical and historical tour of this iconic highway that stretches 2,448 miles and crosses through eight states. The exhibit features stories, artifacts, and images, as well as several interactives. Visually, the exhibit is themed to be reminiscent of attractions that welcomed travelers and tourists. An exceptionally well-maintained, original and non-restored Ford Mustang is a keystone artifact in the exhibit. America's Road also features a photo essay created by photographer and author, Russell Olsen, who researched and photographed 75 classic Route 66 service stations, motor courts, cafes, and other scenes.

WHY ROUTE 66?
Route 66 is emblematic of the American experience. Nearly every aspect of 20th century United States history is reflected in the story of the people and events along the Mother Road. Nearly a hundred years of highway culture can be found, whether a thriving relic or decaying ruin. Thousands of people from around the country and around the world drive all or portions of the Route each year, tracing the migration of people from the Midwest to the Pacific coast.

The exhibit is currently touring the United States, staying at each host venue for approximately three months. It was designed and developed by NRG! Exhibits.
